This policy is made in accordance with BC’s Personal Information Protection Act (“PIPA”), which sets out rules for how organizations such as ours can collect, use, and disclose personal information.   This privacy policy sets out how the Christina Lake Waterfront Property Owners’ Society (“CLWPOS”) uses and protects personal information in its possession. CLWPOS is committed to ensuring that the privacy of all of its members if protected. Should CLWPOS ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy policy. Please read this policy carefully to understand how CLWPOS collects, uses, and discloses personal information.

What information do we collect?
We collect personal information from you when you fill out the membership application form. The information we collect includes your name, mailing address, address of waterfront property at Christina Lake, the P.I.D, your telephone number, and your email address. It may also include other information relevant to member surveys/opinions, which may or may not include personal information within the meaning of PIPA.

What do we use your information for?
We will only collect and use personal information as is reasonable necessary in the circumstances.

The email address we collect from you will be mainly used to communicate with you, including to send you periodic emails to provide you with information and updates concerning issues of significance to all waterfront property owners of Christina Lake. We collect your name, address and telephone number in case we need to communicate with you by an alternate means.

We will collect information regarding the usage of our website to allow us to improve our website, which may or may not include personal information. We will strive to improve our website offerings based on the information and feedback we receive from our website users.

We may collect information from you regarding issues of significance to waterfront owners, which may or may not include personal information. This information will be gathered and compiled from surveys, requests for comments, and emails. This information will be used to assist CLWPOS in achieving its mandate. Individual comments may be quoted, but their source will not be identified without express prior written consent.

Your contact information will not be sold, exchanged, transferred or given to any other company or individual for any reason whatsoever.

If you are no longer a member of CLWPOS, we will delete your personal information from our database.

This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, fulfilling the purposes of CLWPOS, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep the personal information confidential.
